Cleaning Up Hot Spots…
By Jon Dore
Hello, SLE. As follow up to my post yesterday, the entrance roads (our first priority) were graded. The hope was to then hit as many bad spots as possible in the worst areas, if there was time left, and in locations that weren’t too wet.
Once the entrance roads were cleaned up as well as possible through the round-abouts, our operator went down our list in order of priority. He was able to address the most in need spots in the following areas:
Liberty (including Spokane Circle roundabout to Priest River)
CDA (after Spokane Circle roundabout)
St. Joe (including St. Marie’s roundabout to Kelso)
The grader was out again this morning but it is just too wet and muddy today.
Snow is expected tonight, so we will need to see how conditions are tomorrow. For now, our operator is tentatively booked for Monday in the event there is a window to hit other spots on the remainder of our list including Hayden, Newman, Tahoe, and others, as time and conditions allow.
I will keep you posted.
Reminder: Please keep it at 15mph. Speed is a major contributor to these roads coming apart especially in these conditions. Thanks for driving safe and helping to preserve our roads through this extended rainy season.

Enjoy your Sunday. Jon
