Cleaning Up Entrances…
By Jon Dore
Good morning, SLE. It’s still wet and rainy, and not optimal for grading, but with temps up and potholes plaguing our entrances that have been seeing higher-volume traffic this holiday season, the road crew is doing all they can to improve your way in and out of our neighborhood.
The entrance roads are most in need and must be our focus today. However, we will be assessing other roads (and as I’ve mentioned before incorporating feedback from our resident experts) to see if any other grading may be possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. This is another unusual winter and these conditions are the absolute worst for maintaining dirt roads.
As I type this, I’ve watched several vehicles fly by our house on CDA in between passes of the grader. Joe and operator report the same. This is one our biggest challenges in regard to our roads. Please slow down for everyone’s safety (including our operators) and the preservation of our roads.
KEEP IT AT 15MPH.
Looks like some snow is coming next week, so let’s hope for more typical conditions. Only time will tell.
I’ll continue to keep you posted on short-term road management, materials use and our long-term project of rebuilding the crown in our roads. As always, you can reach me at roads@spiritlakeeast.org.
Best to you all in 2025.
