About CDA Entrance…

Wed, Feb 26, 5pm

Good evening, SLE. I want to thank you for your continued patience with the CDA entrance which is far worse than St. Joe’s. We are aware and will be addressing it as soon as possible.

Some info on the entrances…

These are owned by IDT and, like our roads, not built or tied-in correctly (they are far too low and drainage is lacking). They’ve also never been maintained by IDT either.

So, historically, the HOA has needed to stretch its resources and budget to maintain the entrances.

However, you may have read in previous posts and meeting minutes that IDT is planning to bring our entrances up to code as part of its Highway 54 project. So, this is happening in the coming months.

It turned out that our entrances were never permitted. So, in prep for the upcoming improvement project, the SLE board worked with IDT to permit the entrances and agree on a plan for the work, slated for spring/summer 2025.

Until then, we will continue to maintain the entrances as best we can given the challenges they face, particularly CDA, which is not only low-lying but the standing water is combining with the mag chloride we’ve all been bringing in on our tires from treatment of Highway 54 through winter.

As mentioned in the last couple road reports, more extensive work will be done over the coming weeks now that we are experiencing sustained higher temps, which will continue to rise through the weekend.

So, early next week that work will begin, including more rock distribution and grading.

Thanks again for hanging in there through our most challenging season. It could snow again too, but we’ll be sure the roads have been shored up before then, starting with the most in-need spots including CDA entrance.
