Board Election + Online Voting LIVE
By Election Committee Chair, Leora Price-Abell
Hello SLE, below is yet another update on the election ballot! We've had one last-minute addition, and the extended deadline of noon today is now CLOSED, but you may still include a write-in candidate on your ballot if you prefer.
Online voting with the final ballot is now LIVE (link below). ONE VOTE PER LOT.
Alternatively, you may vote in-person at the upcoming semi-annual meeting at Cup of Grace on Tues, May 13th. There, each candidate on the ballot will have two mins to share a little about themselves. But for online voting, below are their bios.
Online voting (the modern proxy) will be open until NOON on the same day, Tues, May 13th, so all online ballots may be printed and delivered by proxy, and counted by the Committee with the in-person ballots on election night.
If you want to vote on behalf of a neighbor, you must bring to the voting table at the meeting their signed proxy, so the ballot and proxy may be reviewed, then approved, and attached for counting.
A hardcopy proxy will be delivered in your meeting invite mailers that we're preparing now and you'll receive next week or you may print your own (link also below).
If you have any questions, email elections@spiritlakeeast.org.

BRENDAN MILLS
Resident since 2018. Active disciple of RealLife Ministries, volunteer Safety Team, Middle, High School, and Young Adult Leader, Life Group Leader, pre-marriage advisor.
Volunteered on the Board since January 2024, Member at Large. Collaborated with residents regarding community improvements, re-installed road signs, litter pick up, fallen tree removal, elderly snow removal.
I have had the pleasure of working with Dave Petersen, who has brought a professional balance keeping our community a sanctuary. Dave’s approach to interpreting and holding true to the community’s CC&R’s and Bylaws has my confidence our community interests are protected. Look forward to working with Bryan Pettit.
DAVID PETERSEN
I’m privileged to serve as President of SLE. My job is to coordinate the hard work of the Board and various Committee members.
During my tenure we’ve worked within budget and we’ve been transparent on how we spend your dues. Most expenses go toward improving the roads, and crews have been hard at work graveling and grading as weather permits. Today our roads are in the best condition we’ve ever seen.
Please allow me to continue to serve this community by casting your vote and reelecting me to the Board. A unified Board is necessary to keep our efforts productive as we look toward the future of our community. Please vote for incumbents Brendan Mills and Bryan Pettit.
BRYAN PETTIT
Retired resident since 2021. I come from a career of utility substation, distribution, construction and trenching. So, I can be of assistance in addressing community challenges, especially with our roads through seasonal changes.
My wife and I attend Calvary Christian Fellowship in Spirit Lake. We help with maintenance, sound, video and HWY 41 cleanup. We love this community, and have been blessed with Great Neighbors and Friends. We enjoy rural life, gardening, and hard work that comes with living here.
I recently joined the Board as Member at Large and look forward to continuing to help solve problems and improve our community in partnership with the SLE-HOA Team, including David Petersen and Brendan Mills.
MURISA ZEDALIS
I’m a proud native Idahoan, born and raised in a place where community matters, the outdoors are a way of life, and values run deep. Growing up in Idaho taught me the importance of hard work, humility, and taking pride in the simple things.
Raised with a strong sense of family (my husband Jesse and I have been together for 17 years), loyalty, responsibility, faith, and belief that your word means something. Those principles have guided me in both my personal and professional life.
I aim to bring integrity, resilience, and a steady work ethic into everything I do.
DALE ZIRBEL

We moved here for the serene, peaceful environment and appreciate all the area has to offer. I’ve spent over 30 years in the construction industry across Idaho and Montana, and I value hard work, integrity, and service.
My wife, who comes from a military background, and I share a deep belief in God and the values of our Constitution. We support free speech without censorship and are dedicated to keeping our community safe, free, and welcoming for all.
