One of our members is a range master at the Farragut Shooting Range and wanted to let everyone know that range is open to the public. As everyone knows, shooting firearms withing Spirit Lake East is strictly prohibited and will be enforced. Here is an inexpensive alternative.
For those who might not know, the Farragut Shooting Range is open to the public. It is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. There is a 100 and 200 yard rifle range as well as a 50 yard handgun range. There are also 4 shotgun stations with clay bird throwing machines. The cost is only $5 per shooter per day. For this fee you can shoot on any, or all of the ranges.
Directions to the range: From Spirit Lake East go east on Hwy 54 into Farragut Park. At the traffic circle, go around the circle and then north on Perimeter Rd. Follow Perimeter Road approximately 1.5 miles where you will find a gated gravel road on your right and a sign identifying the Farragut Shooting Range. This range is manned by NRA certified Range Safety Officers (all volunteers), some of which live in Spirit Lake East.
Don’t forget to bring eye and hearing protection.
This range provides a much better, and safer, alternative to shooting on your property and you will not be disturbing your neighbors.
